27/09/14  (league) - St Margaret Mary's-2, Chill Eagles FC-3

The Eagles make it 4 games unbeaten after acheiving their first ever victory in the AKEJU cup; progressing to the second round after emerging on top of St Margaret Mary's.

Despite taking an early lead from the penalty spot, the Maggy's were never allowed to keep control of the game as a composed finish from man of the match, Robert Hilton and and a well-directed glancing header from Kieran Spriggs made sure the two teams went into the second half on level-pegging.

The second half was a very even affair with both teams testing each others goal keepers. The Eagles' own man between the posts, Daniel Hogan, kept them in the game at times with a number of inspired saves.

The game was eventually won by second half substitute, Ben Hogan, who was played into a 1-on-1 situation with the Maggys' goal keeper who was left seated after Hogan controlled the ball well, dummied his first shot then finished neatly past the hapless goal keeper and securing the late winner.

For the first time in the Eagles' history they have progressed to the second round of the AKEJU Cup leading to a great deal of praise given to new manager Tony Gallagher.

Goals: Robert Hilton, Kieran Spriggs, Ben Hogan

Manager's man of the match: Robert Hilton
